The events that unfold through the Necropolis follow on from the party gaining the trust of the Silver Flame in Stormreach following the Catacombs storyline. As the story develops the party discover more details of the Black Abbot’s plans to ascend to godhood as god of the undead.
An uneasy alliance of opportunity between the Silver Flame and the Emerald Claw sees the two faiths working together against a common foe, leading to a final encounter with the Black Abbot himself. Along the way, the party are embroiled in one betrayal after another until they themselves are forced to become the betrayers.
The Necropolis adventure packs were added separately over a 13 month period. In our campaign, the Necropoolis is a manifest zone of Dolurrh and is home to a Silver Flame outpost where the order has for generations stood against the undead who periodically rise from their graves to prey on the living. I visualise this as a sprawling series of tents set in the bleak surroundings of the Necropolis where the oppressive influence of Dolurrh leaches the strength from those garrisoned there. The growing influence of Dolurrh, heralded by unnatural celestial alignments, has effects beyond the Necropolis, most notably felt in Delera’s Graveyard and House Jorasco.
Another excellent candidate for a dedicated heroic saga starting with low level quests all the way through to higher level quests.
